WHO WE ARE
We are a diverse community. Warm, welcoming and supportive, we work hard while having fun. Our lessons are rooted in fundamentally sound boxing with a progressive training curriculum designed to teach you the art of boxing while you get fit.
We foster an inclusive space for unifying community and self awareness through boxing.
We have designed our program to help guide students through a Beginner level of Boxing and beyond. Sparring is NOT required in any of our classes.
Beginner Level - All beginners must start here. This is an intro to the fundamentals. In this class you will learn Stance, 4 fundamental punches, basic combos and how to Parry, while simultaneously improving your fitness level. Each weeks instruction builds on the previous weeks information and will prepare you for the Box 1 classes. This class is open to all levels.
Beginner/Beginner Intermediate - Students will build on their foundation by learning more punches, more complex footwork and combos, head movement & counterpunching while further improving their fitness level. Students will need to complete the Essentials series in order to attend to these classes.
BOX 2 / SPAR
**SPARRING IS ON HOLD UNTIL PHASE 4**
Beginner Advanced/Intermediate/Advanced - This class will teach you more Head Movement, more ways to block and counter, Feints and more. Must complete Box 1 in order to be invited to this level.
Sparring is optional only - Sparring is NOT required for participation. Must have a Headgear, Mouthguard and Sparring Gloves to participate, as well as approval from a coach.
In addition to our core training program, we offer the following classes:
All Levels - Womxn's boxing class for all bodies, and a safe space for queer, trans, and womxn of color.
**THIS CLASS HAS TEMPORARILY BEEN REPLACED BY OUR BoxWOD CLASS DURING QUARANTINE**
All Levels - Get a full body workout using Kettlebells, Heavy Bag drills and body weight exercises. This is a high intensity, Strength and Conditioning class. Students who are enrolled in the boxing program as well as students who are just looking for a great workout will benefit.
This class is for Youth ages 10 - 14. Students will learn according to our main curriculum, getting a great work out while also developing the technical skills necessary to become proficient boxers. Sparring is NOT required. Students on paying Youth tuitions may only attend our Youth classes.
CLINICS, WORKSHOPS & OTHER EVENTS
We regularly host a variety of different workshops. Past workshops have included "Rhythm n Boxing", Hand Speed, Mitt Work and Infighting to name a few. You can find them on our Facebook page (Facebook.com/theboxinggym) and on ZenPlanner.
